Racks Close is situated at the end of Quarry Street, past the Museum. It is a one-way street.

BY CAR

Nearest Car Park: Millbrook Car Park (5-10 min walk, uphill)

There is a pedestrian crossing on the main road adjacent to the car park. Cross over this and head up Quarry Street (traffic will be coming towards you (stay on the path). The entrance to Racks Close is on the right.

BY BUS

BY RAIL

From Mainline Station, follow signs for the Town Centre and High Street. Once in the High Street follow the road as it bears right before the cobbled High Street and the Scholar statue, this is Quarry Street. Follow this past the Museum and Castle Arch, as the road begins to dip downhill the entrance to Racks Close is on the left. If coming from London Waterloo, look for trains terminating at Portsmouth, Fratton or Haslemere. A 10 minute (approx.) walk from the venue.

From London Road Station (branch line to/from London), a 20 minute (approx.) walk from the venue.

COACHES

The best drop off/pick up point is on the A281 outside the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, at the bus stop. From there it is a short walk up to the venue. Coach parking is available at Bedford Road, Artington Park and Ride or the Spectrum Leisure Centre.

ACCESS

Racks Close does not contain any steps/stairs, however being a former chalk quarry there are some steep grassy slopes. Therefore we would recommend that you visit the site beforehand to check whether it is completely accessible for your particular needs.

THE TEMPEST

Astolat Pavilion, Lido Road, Stoke Park, Guildford, GU1 1FH

The Astolat Pavilion is a former bowls pavilion located on the edge of Stoke Park, between by Stoke Park Bowls Club and Wild Wood Treetop Adventure.

BY CAR

Parking: The student car park at Guildford College (GU1 1EZ) on Stoke Road is FREE after 6pm weekdays and all day during weekends and college holidays.

It is then a 10-minute walk to the venue

BY BUS

Service number 10 operates between the Friary Bus Station and Stoke Park. Bus service 3, 34 and 35 also stop outside Guildford College on Stoke Road.

BY RAIL

From London Road Train Station: 10 minute walk. Turn left out of the station into York Road then turn left at the Traffic lights onto London Road. Continue along London Road until you reach Stoke Park. Cross the park and Wild Wood is located on the far side.

From Guildford Train Station: 25 minutes walk or 5 minutes walk to bus station & short bus journey.

COACHES

Coaches can drive into the Lido Road Car Park to drop off. There is no coach parking onsite. Nearest coach parking is available at the Spectrum Leisure Centre. Please contact us in advance if a coach is coming.

ACCESS

Access to the Astolat Pavilion is step-free. The promenade elements of the performance may entail slopes and alternative step-free routes.
