ABOUT

"A priceless rendition" ~ "So true to the novel" ~ "Enchanting, funny, clever" ~ "I heartily recommend it"

Audiences are completely fallen in love with Pride & Prejudice! Don't miss your chance for a gloriously fun and feel-good start to 2024. Must end 24 February!

“I had not known you a month before I felt that you were the last man in the world whom I could ever be prevailed on to marry!”

When a host of eligible bachelors descend on the small community of Meryton, hearts are set racing and the tranquil world of the Bennett family is sent into a whirlwind of passions and possibilities. Central to all this excitement is one of the most famous love-stories of all time: the compelling will-they-won’t-they romance of the irrepressible Lizzie Bennet and enigmatic Mr Darcy.

We're marking the start of our 18th Birthday year with an enchanting brand new stage adaptation of Jane Austen's much-loved romantic comedy, directed by the award nominated ABIGAIL PICKARD PRICE.

In Surrey's largest Georgian church, three actors will bring to life a cast brimming with unforgettable characters – from the dry and doting Mr Bennet, the rakish Mr Wickham, to the sycophantic Mr Collin’s and of course the unstoppable Mrs Bennet and her fervent pursuit of husbands for her daughters.

Please note: Minimal use of flashing lights, simulated thunder and theatrical haze are used in this production. There is one moment when a storm effect is used. If you would like to be seated in an area where you can be alerted by the Front of House team before the thunder and lightning effect is used please email our Front of House Manager.

We are thrilled to be welcoming APRIL HUGHES and LUKE BARTON to GSC for the first time.

APRIL has recently finished a two-year run in the Olivier Award-winning Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as Moaning Myrtle, and was seen in the Jim Henson/Netflix show The Dark Crystal - Age of Resistance.

LUKE most recently played Bertie Wooster in Jeeves & Wooster in Perfect Nonsense (Salisbury Playhouse/Bolton Octagon) and was last seen in Guildford as Sherlock Holmes in The Valley of Fear at The Yvonne Arnaud. On 02 January he'll also be appearing in Doctors on BBC.

Completing the cast is our own co-founding Actor Manager SARAH GOBRAN, who most recently played amongst others Wife of Bath in The Canterbury Tales; King of France in Henry V; and the Duchess of York in Richard II.

CHEESEBOARDS RETURN!

"We were greatly surprised by Edward Bridge's company... he made a point of ordering toasted cheese for supper, entirely on my account." Jane Austen, letter 1805

We might not be able to offer you toasted cheese, but why not follow Mr Bridge's example and order yourselves a delicious cheeseboard to savour DURING the show. Cheeseboards include a fabulous CheddarBrie and Stilton and come with a tangy onion chutney and crackers. Each board is enough for two persons.

Why not add a bottle of wine to make it extra special... (we're sure Jane would approve).
