RURAL TOURING

“I like this place, and willing could waste my time in it”

As part of our commitment to sharing the magic of theatre with as many people as possible, we’re starting work on a new project to bring our shows to rural communities.

PEASLAKE MACBETH

For our first venture we're delighted to be taking a 60-minute version of Macbeth to Peaslake Village Hall.

Saturday 26 November, 7.30pm

All tickets are being handled by Peaslake Players.

PLANNING FOR 2023...

At its core, rural touring is about bringing communities together to celebrate a unique shared experience; and it’s made extra special because it happens in that community, just for them. Not everyone is able to go to the theatre, (maybe for reasons of geography, finance or transportation), but we can solve these issues by bringing theatre to them.

In an echo of Shakespeare's own practices, we envisage a company of actors visiting our region’s villages and smaller towns with all the set, props, costumes and technical equipment; they set it all up and perform later that evening. The next day they’re on to somewhere new!

We’re currently in the early planning stages and would love to hear the thoughts and views from anyone who would be interested in having GSC visit their village, community centre, pub or church hall.
