HARRIET THORPE<\/strong>\u00a0joining us to play Juliet’s Nurse. Her wonderful comic timing and warmth are the perfect ingredients for this fabulous character. Romeo & Juliet is a famously tragic love-story, but there is also a lot of joy in the play, and that is fuelled by characters like the Nurse.<\/p>\nHarriet is one of Britain’s best loved actresses, best known for her roles in ABSOLUTELY\u00a0FABULOUS, THE\u00a0BRITTAS\u00a0EMPIRE,\u00a0 FRENCH\u00a0&\u00a0SAUNDERS and feature films CALENDAR\u00a0GIRLS and AB\u00a0FAB THE\u00a0MOVIE. Her theatre credits include West End hits WICKED and MAMMA MIA!, as well as numerous appearances at THE NATIONAL THEATRE, most recently in Richard Bean\u2019s GREAT BRITAIN.<\/p>\n
The title roles will be played RICKY OAKLEY<\/strong> and LUCY PEARSON<\/strong>. Ricky joins GSC for the first time, whilst Lucy last worked with us in 2015, playing Alice in our promenade production of Alice in Wonderland<\/em>, staged to celebrate the 150th<\/sup> Anniversary of the book\u2019s publication, and Guildford\u2019s links to Lewis Carroll.<\/p>\nWe’re delighted that there are number of actors joining GSC for the first time, including GORDON COOPER<\/strong> (Lord Capulet) who has been touring the world with STICKMAN, and a regular at the KING\u2019S THEATRE in Glasgow; ROBERT ELKINS <\/strong>(Benvolio) who toured this summer with the LORD CHAMBERLAIN\u2019S MEN, and appeared in BBC TV\u2019s PEAKY BLINDERS; and RIKKI LAWTON<\/strong> (Tybalt\/Paris) who is a regular voice over artist for BBC RADIO and has enjoyed a number of seasons at THE MILL AT SONNING.<\/p>\nFamiliar faces that we’re looking forward to working with again include two actors who appeared in our 2017 shows:\u00a0NOEL WHITE <\/strong>(Friar Lawrence) played Merlin in The Legend of King Arthur<\/em> and the title role in Julius Caesar <\/em>last year, whilst\u00a0JACK WHITAM <\/strong>(Mercutio) was in this summer\u2019s double-bill of A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/em> as Demetrius\/Flute, and Proteus in The Two Gentlemen of Verona<\/em>.<\/p>\nGSC Co-Founders<\/a> SARAH GOBRAN <\/strong>(Lady Capulet) and MATT PINCHES<\/strong> (Prince) also return to the stage for our 36th show…yes 36!!!<\/p>\nYou can read more about the cast in the special\u00a032-page Souvenir Programme<\/strong> which will be on sale at every performance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"With rehearsals about to get going for Romeo & Juliet, we thought we’d\u00a0introduce you to our cast\u00a0with a little more […]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":2368,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[18],"tags":[30,31,27,29,28],"yoast_head":"\n
