THE WINTER'S TALE
8-27 February 2016
Our opening show of our 10th Anniversary Year was the enchanting The Winter's Tale, directed by Caroline Devlin. The play's themes of redemption and reunification fitted perfectly with our year's story of celebrating New Beginnings.
The production was set in Victorian England for Sicilia and the Punjab, Northern India for Bohemia. The show featured moving stages, aerial work, three young members of our Saturdays drama group and wonderfully talented cast. Well known TV actor Tracey Brabin played Paulina (now an MP), and we collaborated with local Bhangra dance company Just Jhoom! A fitting start to our next decade.

“This production may not have the opulent beauty of Kenneth Branagh’s recent triumph but I think it does a better job at explaining the quite difficult story of The Winter’s Tale. This is a production worthy of the West End and it deserves to be seen.” LondonTheatre1.com
"GSC have come to hold a very special place in the hearts of theatregoers and this is testament to their passion and commitment to making watching Shakespeare a wonderfully entertaining and engrossing experience. Long may it continue." Farnham Herald
