WILL'S BIRTHDAY BASH 2025
Since 2011 we've been staging a special series of one-off events to celebrate Shakespeare's Birthday, 23 April 1564.
April is the year's turning point, from Spring to Summer; short days to long; green shoots to colourful bouquets. Shakespeare had an affinity with this moment in the year so it's the perfect moment to explore something new; experience the beauty and vibrancy of his words in a whole new way.
THE SHAKESPEARE WALKS | SUNDAY 27 APRIL
Experience Shakespeare in the least likely of places and discover Dorking in a whole new way!
Over the last 10 years our Shakespeare Walks have visited many of Surrey's towns and villages revealing their hidden gems with actors appearing the least likely of places, and this year we're thrilled to be exploring the Heart of the Surrey Hills: Dorking!
Famous for its antique shops and 3-metre-high Cockerel, this beautiful historic market town was also the home of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams and the birthplace of the great Shakespearean actor Lord Laurence Olivier. Say Hello to Dorking
"It was a wonderful afternoon. You constantly amaze us with your ideas."
Our Shakespeare Walks invite small groups of walkers on an especially designed self-guided route. Along the way you’ll encounter actors in everyday settings poised to share a sonnet or speech... but where are they, and who's an actor and who's not? The route itself, as ever, will be revealed on the day...
Devised & Directed by GSC Co-founder Matt Pinches

LOVE IS IN THE AIRPORT | 11-12 APRIL
“I hope this storm never passes and we’re trapped inside here together forever”
Now in its 9th year, the annual Young Company production is a major event for our youth theatre, which has seen many members go on to train for a career in the theatre industry.
Devised by our inspiring company of 13– 18 year-old theatre makers and written by Theo Toksvig-Stewart, Love is in the Airport will take inspiration from Romeo & Juliet, Pride & Prejudice and Boeing Boeing Gone!
Turbulent times are ahead at London Stanwickrow Airport when an announcement suddenly changes everything! With all flights indefinitely delayed, "holiday plans" take an unexpected detour, setting off a chain reaction of misunderstandings and unexpected alliances. Passengers learn about love, the importance of holding onto a good sense of humour and some very unconventional airport procedures.
“What a wonderful piece of theatre and a hugely talented group of young actors” Audience member 2022
