WILL'S BIRTHDAY BASH 2026
Since 2011 we've been staging a special series of one-off events to celebrate Shakespeare's Birthday, 23 April 1564.
April is the year's turning point, from Spring to Summer; short days to long; green shoots to colourful bouquets. Shakespeare had an affinity with this moment in the year so it's the perfect moment to explore something new; experience the beauty and vibrancy of his words in a whole new way.
GSC YOUNG COMPANY presents... | 10th - 11th APRIL
This year our Young Company are also celebrating - it's their 10th Anniversary! The annual Young Company production is a major event for our young theatre makers, which has seen many members go on to train for a career in the theatre industry.
Devised by our inspiring company of 13– 18 year-old theatre makers and written by Theo Toksvig-Stewart, this year's play will take inspiration from Frankenstein, Pride & Prejudice, The Comedy of Errors and A Company of Rascals.
As the Young Company are only half way through their devising process, more information about the show will be released very soon!
“What a wonderful piece of theatre and a hugely talented group of young actors” Audience member 2022
THE SHAKESPEARE WALKS | SUNDAY 19th APRIL
Experience Shakespeare in the least likely of places!
Over the last decade our Shakespeare Walks have visited many of Surrey's towns and villages revealing their hidden gems with actors appearing the least likely of places, from roof gardens to hidden courtyards. Venues have included Guildford Town Centre, Dorking, Godalming, Farnham, Cranleigh and West Horsley Place. And for 2026 we're in... well you'll have to wait and see!
"It was a wonderful afternoon. You constantly amaze us with your ideas."
Our Shakespeare Walks invite small groups of walkers on an especially designed self-guided route. Along the way you’ll encounter actors in everyday settings poised to share a sonnet or speech... but where are they, and who's an actor and who's not? The route itself, as ever, will be revealed on the day...
