SATURDAY DRAMA CLUB

A NEW YEAR … A NEW LOOK!

Saturdays Drama was the first drama club we started, and as we move into our 20th year we’re giving them a make-over!

Over two-terms we’ll work be working on the two brilliant comedies that the main company will be staging later in July… Much Ado About Nothing and Love’s Labour’s Lost.

Much Ado About Nothing is a fun comedy full of misunderstandings and where no-one is quite what they seem. Beatrice and Benedick are adamant that they could never fall in love, only to be secretly in love with each other! So, their friends take it upon themselves to prove them wrong and devise a scheme to bring them together. Meanwhile the hopeless local police force have uncovered a dastardly plot that could ruin everything!

Love's Labour's Lost is also a brilliant comedy where big promises are hard to keep! The King and his friends have promised to study for 3 years with no distractions. However, the Princess of France and her friends turn up throwing the boys' plans in to chaos... can our heroes avoid temptation? Can the visitors see through the disguises? Can the local villagers understand what's going on?! Expect terrible disguises, tomfoolery, and a lot of laughs!

Following in the professional company’s footsteps, both plays will be performed in the open-air at the bandstand in the Castle Gardens where GSC back all those years ago.

Much Ado About Nothing will be performed by Saturdays Part I, whilst the older group of Saturdays Part II will present Love’s Labour’s Lost.
