Seven years in and we still hadn’t tackled Shakespeare chilling blockbuster, until now.
Staged in the round, in the centre of Holy Trinity Church, over 4400 audience members were immersed in the terrifying world of the Macbeths. We built huge tree-like structures behind the audience from which the witches observed the comings and goings of medieval Scotland.
Over 1100 school children watched the show from as far away as Walsall. We also invited Professor Fiona Watson, an expert on the real Macbeth, down from Scotland to give a special pre-show talk about the king and the differences with Shakespeare’s story.
