Sharing great stories and enriching lives is our passion and we are committed to ensuring we continue to do this for all our classes as much as possible during these unprecedented times. Classes have now been re-configured for online delivery, and we will give you full details as to how this works when you register. Contact the Education Team if you have any questions.
We will continue to assess the situation as it progresses and will start classes in their usual venues, as soon as it’s safe to do so. Thank you for your co-operation, support and understanding. (updated 20 April 2020)
Summer 2020: GSC Saturdays @ home with Fran & Sarah
Online, Saturdays 10am start (60 mins per session)
25 April – 11 July
£100 (£125 for 2+ members in the same household)
Create Your Own GSC Sonnet Walk.
Join your friends and log-in with GSC to take part in your favourite warm-ups, games, improvisations and rehearsals.
Learn how to creatively and logistically put on your very own Sonnet Walk, as we rehearse and perform our own sonnets. Discover what goes on behind the scenes of our professional shows with special talks and personal feedback from GSC’s creative team - exploring directing, producing and marketing.
At the end of the term, we will invite audiences to take part in our creation. Fingers crossed, lockdown will be over and we’ll be able to run a walk in the open-air. If not, walks will have been created for a mobile app, which family members and friends can take part in, as part of their daily exercise.
What are GSC Saturdays?
Every Saturday we ignite the imagination of young actors in small friendly groups. Working with professional actors and stage combat instructors, they play fun games, rehearse plays, strengthen their confidence and learn more about the exciting world of theatre.
Each term, the group tackle a different play and a different performance venue, in keeping with our professional productions. In recent years, we've performed:
- At the Sonnet Walk Weekend
- As You Like It at Guildford Castle
- New plays at Guildford Innovate Festival
- Henry V at GSC's 10th Anniversary Gala
- Twelfth Night at Rack’s Close
- All’s Well That Ends Well on the professional stage
- Recorded audio-plays with Eagle Radio!
“GSC has had such a positive impact over the years on both their confidence on stage and also their love of Shakespeare.” Club Member’s Mum
Fee: £160 per term
