Special Events

Aside from our full-length productions, Guildford Shakespeare
Company also produce and take part in special events all year
round, ranging from gallery openings, to bite-size Shakespeare
presentations, to providing entertainment for private functions.

If you would like an afternoon or evening of Shakespeare as
part of your events programme, or to add something a little
different to a special occasion, or even just to say you've had
the Bard in your backroom contact us!

To date, these have ranged from a selection of scenes and
sonnets to a specially commissioned version of a whole play.

Here are just two examples:

A Midsummer Night's Dream

A 30-minute or hour-long version of the summer

favourite A Midsummer Night's Dream. The hour-long version tells

the story of the hilarious Mechanicals and their hopeless but enthusiastic attempts to rehearse and stage their play, and includes the enchanting poetry of the Faeries. The half hour version focuses soley on the Mechanicals.

Love's Not Time's Fool

First produced to help launch the West Wall Charity Appeal for St Mary's Church in Guildford, Love's Not Time's Fool is a selection of Shakespeare's most beautiful and funny romantic scenes, sonnets and soliloquies, set in black-tie and evening-gown costumes to a sound track of 50's swing music.
