We love our town, and we’re pretty certain you will too!
Whilst you’re here why not make the most of your visit and explore what Guildford has to offer.
From the picture-postcard cobbled High Street (the cobbles are actually called 'setts') to the enticing narrow lanes of Chapel Street and Swan Lane; from the 15th Century Guildhall to top of the range designer shops; Guildford has something for everyone!
Did you know…?
Guildford has been (and continues to be) home to many illustrious names
over the years including PG Wodehouse, EH Shepherd “the Man who drew
Pooh”, Olympic Gold Medallist Allan Wells MBE (100m), rock band The
Stranglers and Alan Turing who broke the Enigma Code in WW2. It features
in the movies The Omen (1976) and Carry On Sergeant (1958). It’s
also the final resting place of writer Lewis Carroll and actor Boris Karloff
was cremated here in 1969.
